Raphael Molina Mentor
- Creative Designer, Chevy SUV Studio
Raphael grew up in Brazil, loving car culture and appreciating iconic designs, especially American classic cars. He was first introduced to the profession of car design when his uncle gave him some DVDs of a TV special about GM Design in North America. By the time he finished high school, he knew exactly what he wanted to do.
His career with General Motors began when he was hired as a Design Intern at the Brazil Design Studio in 2012. He continued there after graduating with a degree in Product Design from the Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia in 2014. Raphael worked on production and advanced vehicles for emerging markets. Working on small and low-cost vehicles in Brazil was challenging but Raphael thinks it was a very valuable experience and helped him to grow as a designer.
In 2014 Raphael moved to the United States and joined the team at the GM Design Center in Warren, MI. He is very curious about what the future holds for the automotive industry and is excited to be actively involved in transforming the future of transportation.
