My Whole Design Career as a Car Enthusiast Jinho So

When my dad first got his luxury vehicle in Korea, I was hooked into car industry, especially car design industry. I started to admire car designers and cars that are designed well. After then, I began to draw my own cars even though I was not sure how to design proper cars. However, since I tried to draw cars watching lots of other designers' works, I was able to get my own design language for the cars. In terms of my design, my works usually involves lots of curved lines and detailed components, which helps driver or passenger to drive cars more efficiently. I do want to introduce some of my works to mentors for this competition, and learn about how I should design cars using technology (Rendering program: Photoshop, Illustrator, Allias, or Rhino / I will get a new laptop which would make it possible), and get some advices of my work through this competition.

You do a very good job! I see that you already have good understanding of sketching, which is great! Just keep doing it, to get some more practice (as much you do, much you get better! :) ) and excited to see some Chevy cars!

Thank you for your comment for my entry, it helped me a lot.I will upload my sketches that involve Chevorlet's design language soon.

I really love the second side view from Left going to right, it's so good in proportions, sketch-lines, details, really 10 points! : ) If you can sketch some more Chevy ideations in that quality, would be perfect! Keep it up!

Jinho So in reply to Eduardo Okamoto 18 January 2017 21:59:13
Thank you:) I'll put some effort creating new design with Chevorlet's identity.

Love the dynamic lines of your sketches! The perspectives is good too. See how much better your sketches will be with the indicated wheel spokes? And like Okamoto said. We would love to see more sketches with "Chevy identity" in it! Keep going!

I'll definitely put some Chevorlet's design language in my design. Thank you for your comment :)

Thanks Angelina, I'm glad you like my design and sketches! I do like your design as well since they got clear identities and messages that your telling about your vehicle.

I like that you look comfortable with a variety of different mediums. I really like all the side views, but I would try to walk around the car and draw different view. Awesome work!

Thanks for your comment Chris- I really like your works too, and I'll definitely work some different perspective views to illustrate my design :)

Li-Cheng Hsu in reply to Jinho So 24 January 2017 22:10:48
Chris got a great point! I like all the side views you did! They feel energetic and has nice proportion. As you walk through the car and do some front 3/4 or rear 3/4 views, you can better describe your design because just with side views could be hard to understand the shape and forms of your design.

Jinho So in reply to Li-Cheng Hsu 26 January 2017 02:36:45
That's what I'm working for the final phase. Thank you and Chris pointing out that I should include more perspective in order to fully illustrate my design. I'll put some bot only 3/4 rear or front views, but also interior designs for the final phase. Thank you so much for your advice.

I really like the long continuous lines in your designs, especially in your side views. The only thing I might say would be to make your greenhouse a bit larger by making the side windows taller. There's a balance to strike between sporty and practical height. If you find that balance by making the cabin a tad taller I think your designs will be even better. Really nice job though, I think you are very talented.

Jinho So in reply to woodmanben 26 January 2017 13:12:17
I'm glad you liked my design- and I also think I should enlarge greenhouse a little bit more to keep the balance of my design. Thank you for your advice and I'll keep that in my mind :)

Thanks for your kind words about my design :)
I also really like your designs and drawing techniques, especially your front image with the black background. I would suggest fully refining that sketch, and adding a front and rear view of it. Good luck!
